Smocking Workshop: Hand sewing session. Smocking is a traditional Caribbean decorative technique used on clothes to enable stretch. With a talk about the history of African wax print fabrics, and traditional and modern crafts from the Caribbean and how the Windrush generation continued their practices, inspiring the next generation of African descendants crafts today.

Materials: African patterned fabric offcuts, lace scraps, embroidery thread.
